Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, first look
I am a huge Dune fan. I have read the books (review is here) a couple of times and really enjoyed the Syfy channel’s version. Controversially, I even enjoyed David Lynch’s Dune, although I knew what was going on in advance, which helped, and was stoned a lot. I even enjoyed the games – the adventure one from 1992 and then the pre-C&C games that were the first RTS games. So many great Dune related memories.
Well, there is finally a new one on the way which will be directed by the always reliable Denis Villeneuve. Arrival and Blade Runner 2049
The reason I am writing about this now is that there was a load of info about the new Dune dropped yesterday and it got me all excited. There was some information, cast in outfits and a few pictures.
Dune release dates (yes plural)
Dune will be released in December this year. I know the virus sucks but at least there will be a bumper crop of movies when we are allowed out. It was also revealed that this will just be part one of two. Which is awesome news as I have always doubted how someone could do the book justice in a mere two to two and a half
The Cast
The casting is ridiculously good, both in terms of talent and how I imagine the characters in my head.
