Rick and Morty season 5 is incoming!

Rick and Morty is one of my favourite shows. I have written about the show before and definitely will again. It’s mental, a little bit gross, but really smart and funny.

Each series used to take ages to make – not George RR Martin ages but annoying nonetheless. Usually at least 18 months, sometimes more. Now that at least 70 episodes have been commissioned, it seems like we are destined for one series a year. Which is awesome. Thank you, Adult Swim!

The new series will likely be 10 episodes long but that’s just a guess. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2017, Dan Harmon said:

“We’re literally writing Season 5 while finishing Season 4 just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule. Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we’re going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time.”

I’m going to embark on a rewatch of at least the entirety of season 4. The great thing about Rick and Morty is that even though they are only around 23 minutes long, so much happens you can rewatch each episode multiple times.

Roll on season 5!
