Life, the Universe and Forbidden Planet 42
Good news everyone! This coming Saturday, the 29th of August is a positive nerd fest / cool scifi fan fest as Forbidden Planet turns 42 years old. The great thing is that the event is actually taking place on the interweb as that is more futuristic and cool. Also, people might not be in London. Oh, and there’s some virus or other. So first things first:
Click on this link to take you to the event.
If you are one of those maniacs who simply won’t take a random guy on the internet’s word for it, then here is the blurb about who will be attending.
“We are celebrating 42 years of pop-culture addiction with an all-star cast of our oldest friends & customers! William Shatner, DMC, Neil Gaiman, Alice Cooper, Jonathan Ross, Gerard Way, Garth Ennis, Kevin Smith, Michael Moorcock, Simon Pegg, Mark Millar, Dan Slott, V.E. Schwab, Dave Gibbons, Brian Bolland, Dirk Maggs, Chris Claremont & Ben Aaronovich all join Forbidden Planet’s Andrew Sumner right HERE, for a series of new & exclusive in-depth interviews.”
Pretty cool right? A veritable smorgasbord of talent that makes me green with envy. I used to go to Forbidden Planet all the time when I lived in London but sadly I am now stuck on a beach in Thailand. Happily, I have high-speed internet so will definitely be watching this. There’s a hashtag, so you can connect with others during the event: #FORBIDDENPLANET42
If you don’t know why 42 is such an important number then shame on you. Here is a clue. In case that hasn’t sold you, then here is a trailer. I think that should do…
