I’ve finally seen Snyder’s epic full cut of the Justice League and was pleasantly surprised

I just saw the Zack Snyder version of Justice League and was pleasantly surprised by how entertained I was. I’d watched the original when it came out, and it was pretty forgettable. I mean that literally – I had forgotten most of it apart from the characters involved.
Calls for the Snyder cut were pretty damned vocal at one point and I was largely indifferent to it. I generally like Snyder and the first review on this site was a glowing one about Watchmen. But Rebel Moon didn’t do much for me. It was fun to watch, but a cliched and crap in parts.
The main thing that had put of off watching the Snyder cut was that it was four hours. He did the same thing for Rebel Moon. I hope this doesn’t become a trend – release an ok film then bring out a four hour improved version.
Well, the other day, I finally had a spare four hours and gave it a try.
Is the Snyder cut better than the original?
Yes it is. There you go. I wasn’t bored during the original, I just wasn’t all that interested. During the epically long new version, I enjoyed the whole thing. Even when it was a bit daft – which was often.
The story is a lot better and the arc for Cyborg was noticeably improved. He seemed to do bugger all in the original. Also, Steppenwolf actually had a decent motivation this time. Last time, he was just a dick.
Now that the whole universe has been deleted and Gunn has taken over, the end of the movie was a pain to sit through. I’m talking about the bit where it is a dream or vision or something. It is clearly something that was being set up and now it is just pointless.
That aside, the film was a huge improvement. I guess this short post is for those people who are on the fence and put off by the runtime or the drabness of the original. Give the Snyder cut a go. It’s four hours of fun.
