Happy Festivus – Here Is A Free Book Called Cooperworld

From the thousands of us here in Scifi Ward towers – Season’s Greetings and here’s a free book. It’s called Cooperworld and is a novella I wrote a while back.

I think it’s both fun and thoughtful, but then I might be biased. I’ll admit that the cover is a bit rubbish. I’m a writer, not a designer, but that’s not a good enough excuse these days. (I hired someone from Fiverr to do my others.)

Anyway, here is a blurb that I am working on:

Inside a computer, a civilisation is being born.

Outside it, reality is starting to wobble.

When Rick, a genius programmer, finally cracks true artificial intelligence, he doesn’t create a single mind – he creates an entire world.

Cooperworld is a simulated planet where people live full lives, invent languages, wage wars, fall in love, and slowly unlock the secrets of the universe. All without knowing they are lines of code running in a Camden flat. Jon, a journalist and reluctant witness, watches history unfold at impossible speed… until the simulation begins to ask questions of its own.

As worlds give birth to worlds and creators discover they may not be as original as they thought, the boundaries between reality, responsibility, and divinity begin to blur.

Cooperworld is a sharp, funny, and quietly profound exploration of artificial life, nested universes, and what happens when humanity realises it may not be at the top of the stack.

What do you think?

Anyway, go ahead and download it. Free books are always nice, right? It will be free until the end of Boxing Day, aka the 26th December.

You can get it in the US here.

And you can get it in the UK here.

(If you live somewhere here, use the US link and it should redirect you – but don’t quote me on that.)

Happy Festivus! Enjoy the free book.
