Cooperworld is an exciting tale of parallel universes and AI
In this reality, we are in the grip of a coronavirus induced panic, stuck at home with nothing much to do. So you might as well read something such as, off the top of my head… Cooperworld. Cooperworld is a longish short story or a short novella – it depends on how you view such things. It is 41 pages long. Here’s the story:
In the near future, AI research is controlled by paranoid governments. When Dr Cooper, an AI specialist, has an illegal breakthrough that involves creating an entire universe in a simulation replete with sentient lifeforms, he doesn’t realise the full implications of what he has done. The simulation works perfectly and the people of Cooperworld have no idea they are artificial. But that in turn raises other questions. Such as… are we?
Although I wrote it and am understandably biased, I think Cooperworld is a lot of fun. It raises several questions without taking itself too seriously. It is set at the lowest price that Amazon would allow, so if you have some time on your hands, and I know you do, why not give it a look? I am running out pot noodles and need to eat. Thanks in advance. Here is a link:
