Chart tells Sci-Fi genre based purely on main ship

I saw this scif-i genre chart on Jalopnik and thought it was a pretty cool idea and it totally works. I am not sure who this is for exactly but it’s fun. After all, show any science fiction fan a picture of the main spaceship in a TV show or film and they could probably tell you what type of science fiction goodness you are in for. (As in space opera or near future or whatever.) But I think most sci-fi fans will enjoy this. Instead of waffling about it, I’ll show you:

Pretty cool right? I’m watching a lot of the Orville and Star Trek at the moment so that is the Class 3 genre. I am also reading Tiamat’s Wrath – the Expanse Book 8 – which I guess is also 3 but going on 4 as things in the story develop. I do have a mild craving for some Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers right now though. The Retro genre has some great spaceships. And a whole lot of spandex. Which gives me an idea for a whole new genre chart…
