Awash in humorous science fiction
Purely by coincidence, I find myself wallowing happily in humorous scifi. I am re-watching Rick and Morty on Netflix because it is awesome and there should be a new episode out sometime around now. On Amazon, I have also just started watching The Orville, which is great fun and something I meant to get into a long time ago. I recently finished Space Team: Return of the Dead Guy and am now reading the occasional story from Space Team: A lot of weird space shizz (short stories).
All of this has been something of a coincidence. Previously I had been watching Chernobyl and reading Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling) – The cuckoo’s calling. I guess after two forays into fairly serious fiction, I needed perking up. Both are superb though and I highly recommend them even though they not scifi. I’m nice like that.
Next up, I will be launching back into the Expanse series. Season 4 of the TV show is due at some point and Tiamat’s Wrath has been on my kindle for a while. The books are superb if you are a fan of the show. So my humorous interlude will come to an end. For now anyway. Still, it is good to know there is funny stuff out there. Growing up it was slim picking – Hitchhikers, Bill the Galactic Hero, Red Dwarf novelisations, and so on were out there, but now there a hell of a lot of choice and that is a fine thing. Good times!
Next week I will stop being so damned cheerful, which I am sure will be relief to us all. Until then, smile you miserable sod.
