I’m a very forgiving soul so I am allowing myself to get fairly excited about both a DC film and a Zack Snyder film. I enjoyed Watchmen and I waited till the extended BluRay version of Batman vs Superman came out and enjoyed the hell out of that too. So bollocks, I am looking forward to Justice League.
Suicide Squad was crap, so I won’t go full on “Star Wars” excited yet. DC have yet to find their feet. I know trailers mean bugger all these days, so for what it is worth, here is the Justice League official trailer. I think it looks great! Woohoo DC!
Well, this aired a few hours ago and I have to say it has made me pretty excited. And I’ve seen the last Superman film. Actually, I think the last Superman film was ok. Not great, but not as bad as people say.
So far, the trailers for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice have all been pretty damned spectacular. Even though 99% of my subconscious is currently running around in excited circles yelling ‘Star Wars! Star Wars! Star Wars!’ the remaining 1% is quite excited about this. On the surface you’d think Superman could easily squash Batman but his main nemesis is Lex Luthor – a smart rich guy – so it isn’t guaranteed. Except… really… Superman would easily beat Batman and that is actually hinted at here. Also, any comic book fan knows how this will end up, with the formation of a certain league implied strongly in the title.
Anyway, I have waffled enough. The trailer looks superb and even has a couple of seconds of Wonder Woman. A couple at the max. No Aquaman though. See what you think:
On twitter there has been an amusing exchange between the Bad Robot studios (JJ Abrahms’ lot doing Star Wars), and Zack Snyder who is currently making Batman vs Superman. Here is a tweet from Zack Snyder where he has actually staged the pic near the Batmobile and features a Gotham police car:
Not to be outdone, the people at Bad Robot have been tweeting things like this:
Long may this battle continue! Talented nerds doing crossovers are a joy.
I haven’t been this excited since, well, er, last week actually with The Avengers. But it is rare to have this much awesomeness hitting our screens in such a short period. The Dark Knight Rises is whipping the fanboys and even cool people like myself into something approaching nerdgasm. Already people are hitting the science fiction forums saying how much they intend to be let down by it.
This new trailer has made things even worse by looking brilliant but not giving too much away. There is the added hype that Nolan hasn’t made a bad film yet -although some disliked Inception because he purposefully wanted to make a film that made people think. Apparently that is pretentious. (It only made some people think – most people just enjoyed a cerebral action flick.)
Anyway, enough waffling! The Dark Knight Rises looks great and it will be great. So there. Enjoy.
