1/ I know what Total Recall means. The title of a movie doesn't necessarily explain exactly what happens in the film.

2/ The doctor with a drop of sweat symbolizes his rejection of reality. Quaid wants this life as a spy to be real.

3/ If someone has lost touch with reality, it is likely they would get in someone who knows him to try and make him see sense and that he is delusional. Not being nice is no proof. They bring wives to hostage negotiations to talk with gunmen or, as in this case, to talk sense into their loved one when they go a bid mad. If anything, his wife is a tragic figure and a victim of his mid-life crisis.

The blue sky on Mars and picture of Molina on the screen can't be an edit mistake. They actually filmed the shot and the actor said the line. That has nothing to do with editing. There is lots more proof that it is a dream.

The allure of the film is that you (Imean all of us), like Quaid, want it to be real.

So it's a dream. I guess we beg to differ.

well first off: total recall means getting your memory back!!!
Second...quaid/hauser understands that it is not a dream when one of the doctors who is trying to convince him its just a dream drops a pearl of swett from his forehead...this.makes quaid/huser understand that it is not a dream.

Thirdley...it is not very nice of the total recall center to involve his wife in the dream if it is a dream...why...well hauser kills her and falls in love with his "dream girl"...how nice of the recall center to do that....and when he wakes upp his relationship is ruind....i dont think so.

All the other bullshit you are talking about is just bad eddeting and misstakes in the first movie....the do however not exist in the remake.
In the remake however it is not his docter that reveals it...its his girl...with her tears.....now...A.I dont cries ;)

So...it is not a dream ;)

about the sweat, they bleed in whole movie ,but one guy can't sweat in one scene?I believe they shoot it as a reality and then thought to make it a dream, all those examples (blue skies ,melina, alien reactor) they put it in the end.

Thanks for this article; it absolutely describes my opinions regarding Howard, Milius, Arnold and everything else. I maybe like the Milius movie a bit more, would have been quite good with a more fitting cast (Sandahl Bergman was a very wrong choice, too).

Comment on Is Prometheus in the same universe as Blade Runner? by Seun

I'm rlaely looking forward to Prometheus. Long time fan of the Alien series. At the same time, I'm worried it will taint the original a bit by making it more than it was: a scary alien from a distant world. From what I understand *possible spoilers* it explores the origin of that U shaped alien craft the Nostromo crew found on LV-426 in the original film (and in the same universe as this film?), and may explain the origin of the species of alien they brought on board. Rumor is the latter species may have been designed to clean' planets.I'm also wondering if it may be a bit of a take off on 2001 *spoilers*, where the monolith was a tool whereby some alien species learned of humanity's progress. When I read about Prometheus, I was reminded of William Burroughs' claim that language is a virus from outer space , and began wondering if humanity, in Prometheus, has become a virus, a too big for its own britches' species which must be destroyed by the designed alien. The title makes me think something along those lines, along with a producer saying it was the dark side of the moon . The clip you posted furthers my suspicion that that may be the revelation in the film. Or I could be reading too much into it.In any case, I can't wait to see it. Along with Birdemic II: The Resurrection.

It's a little late for this one isn't it? It's adelary been gone for a season. But I will say this. I loved that series of books and the TV series was pretty good too. I was sorry to see it go.I can't say I was surprised with this one though. They didn't even have it on a network.

Someone once said that with progress, tgnihs get better. Apparently, their is one exception to the rule and that exception seems to be the artwork of comic books. Today, Alex Ross is one superb artist. Yesterday, we had Sheldon Moldoff, Irwin Hasen and Wayne Boring. These men will never be replaced and their works will live on long after they are dust. The works of Wayne Boring as applied to Superman will never be duplicated or copied. Wayne was one of a kind. His Superman characterization shows how a simple comic book character became A SUPER ICON.Bigger isn't always best. The comics of the 40 s and the 50 s made Superman and Batman everything they were and are. The artists of Yesterday could very well be the Artists of Today personified.

This video is incredible and sighltly creepy at the same time. An android that cries, alrighty then. The Weyland website is one of the most detailed mock sites I have seen I mean the complete Weyland Industries timeline alone is enough to make it awesome.

Man I can't wait to see this series, it looks azmniag. It seems like theres tons of azmniag fantasy novels out there but for some reason all the movies and shows in the genre aren't well done at all (with the exception of lotr). It's a shame, really
